Apply it right, see the difference

With water-repellent coatings, preparation decides the result. Follow these four rules.

Application guide
  1. Clean it completely. If limescale, grease or old residue is left, the coating sticks to that instead of your glass.
  2. Dry it completely. Never apply to a damp surface.
  3. Spray and wipe at once. It evaporates fast. Work in small sections and spread it with a microfibre cloth without waiting.
  4. Let it set. Keep the surface dry for the first 24 hours.

Will the limescale protector remove old limescale from my shower?

No. It is a preventer: you apply it to clean glass and it stops limescale building up again. First remove all existing limescale with a descaler, rinse and dry, then apply.

How long does it last?

It depends on how hard your water is, how often you use the shower, and what you clean the glass with. Abrasive cleaners and scouring pads wear the layer down quickly. When water stops beading and starts to spread, clean the glass and apply again.

There are streaks on the glass after applying. What should I do?

Streaks usually mean the product was left to dry on the glass. Keep buffing in circles with a clean, dry side of the cloth. Next time, work in smaller sections and wipe each one straight away.

Are the shower spray and the car rain repellent the same product?

No. Both leave a water-repellent layer on glass, but each is formulated for different conditions — one for bathroom steam and hard water, the other for rain, wind and wipers. Use the right product for each surface.

Where can I buy Materix products?
