From the lab to your home: the Materix story
We develop coatings that leave a thin, water-repellent nano layer on glass and similar surfaces. We use the same technology on your shower, your car’s glass, solar panels and boat glass — with a formula for each surface.
Our journey
- January 2022
First foundations at DEPARK
Our business idea, which placed 5th in Türkiye at the “Women Entrepreneurship Camp in Innovation”, was established at Dokuz Eylül University Technopark (DEPARK) after receiving a grant under the KOSGEB R&D and Innovation Support Programme.
- June 2022
From laboratory to industry
Laboratory tests of hydrophobic and anti-reflective nanofilm prototypes for solar panels were completed successfully. Our first R&D workshop opened at Zone Gaziemir.
- 2023–2024
Innovation recognised by awards
Our technology won 1st place in the Acceleration Category of Türkiye’s Teknofest Entrepreneurship Competition. We were then among the Türkiye finalists of GCIP, the UN-backed global clean-technology programme.
- 2026
Industrial scale
We reached manufacturing infrastructure to TSE standards with an annual capacity of 10,000 litres, and declared our market leadership in deep technology by surpassing 25,000 invoiced product sales and field applications.
Trusted by industry leaders
From solar energy producers to retail giants, we build strategic partnerships with Türkiye’s leading institutions.
“With their innovations, we are confident that Materix has the potential to step-change solar module efficiency.”

Where we’re going
MENA region
To be the primary technology partner for efficiency optimisation of utility-scale solar plants in the Middle East and North Africa, where irradiance and desert soiling are most intense.
European Union
With infrastructure fully compliant with the EU Green Deal and carbon-reduction regulations, to supply raw materials and technology licences directly to panel manufacturers (OEMs) in Europe.
New sectors
To commercialise photocatalytic and anti-icing functional nano coatings for aviation, automotive, marine and architectural glass.
Shaping the future of a $35B+ functional coatings industry.
